What’s been happening at the India hub?

This month we have been focusing on the development of a range of new programs to be delivered in the new year including programs related to animal safety and welfare, environmental education and others. We have been busy having meetings with a range of local organisations and experts to aid in the development and delivery of these programs and are excited to be making more connections in our community.

Citizens practice social distancing at the local market in Palampur

COVID-19 Update

Across India, the nation-wide lockdown finished on 31st May. The government has now initiated ‘Unlock 1’ and implemented a decentralised response to the virus. In Palampur all shops have opened and across the Kangra district the the curfew has been relaxed from 6am to 8pm. Interstate movements are now permitted with buses operational. Citizens are also allowed to walk and run for exercise from 5am to 6am. People must still wear facemasks and shop-keepers must ensure compliance of physical distancing by displaying shell shaped circles on the ground indicating a safe social distance of 1-1.5 meters for the consumers to stand outside the shops.
