To the casual tourist, Sri Lanka appears a care-free tropical paradise, but it is also the location of some much-needed international development work.

Teaching in Sri Lanka
The FutureSense Foundation helps to provide manpower for volunteer projects that seek to improve access to education to a population that is largely impoverished and dependent on a fragile tourist industry.
We work with local partners to provide opportunities for gap year and career break volunteers to teach in rural communities around the beautiful hill region of Kandy. As a volunteer in Sri Lanka you can work in outlying villages or in Buddhist temple schools, where monks run community centres for local residents.
Local schools suffer from a severe lack of resources and volunteers teaching in Sri Lanka help to improve the quality of education while raising the confidence of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
